From concept to implementation

Design and communication are inseparable concepts. Every choice – form, function, ergonomics – creates a language inseparable from the brand.

For this language to be consistent and truly effective, it takes a method for analysing context and defining objectives; experience to understand different markets and cultures; and multidisciplinary know-how to develop coherent branding, websites and integrated marketing strategies.

For over 20 years, I have used these assets to turn insights and ideas into solid corporate identities, capable of representing and conveying a company’s image around the world.

Challenge

Barbara Bettetini had worked for years as a clinical educational practitioner, and in other fields too. She had a thousand tools but no digital identity: no logo, no website — or rather... too many of them... The result? Clients only through word of mouth, a thousand projects and scattered materials for courses and workshops. The biggest challenge was explaining Barbara’s eclectic professional universe and the tools and resources she could offer.

Audit & Insight

During the audit, I analysed the existing touchpoints (slides, handouts, social media and websites) and listened to her stories. She needed a brand that spoke about her simply: direct, complete, but simple. That was the word that emerged most strongly during the audit: simplicity.

Approach

Logo design

There was no logo, but Barbara wanted something simple and recognisable, yet minimalist, legible and direct.

UX & Web Design

  • Naming – “Barbara Bettetini” – that didn’t take much thought.
  • Logotype – a soft shape becoming the letter “B” – simple.
  • A “calm” palette and fonts that remain legible for people with low vision.
  • Joomla / YOOtheme PRO website: clearly defined, simple, smoothly flowing sections.

UI Details

A few distinctive details:

Barbara wanted a special menu with clear labels and “everything right there”... said and done. Once the structure was defined, we designed the mega menu, which she liked immediately.

A modern, functional layout
To make the most of the structure, we defined concise text and clean graphics, enhanced by evocative images. The result is a harmonious digital environment in which every piece of information is presented clearly and attractively. Navigation is smooth and intuitive.

Sophisticated design and practicality
One of the new website’s distinguishing features is its navigation, with a structure that provides quick access to all the main areas. The elegant, contemporary mega menus simplify the search for content and make every section easy to reach in just a few clicks.

Project hub

Instead of building multiple separate mini-sites — cumbersome to manage and hard to find — we created a single hub for Barbara:
  • A showcase blog on Joomla / YOOtheme: “Methodology”, “Services” and, above all, “Projects” sections.
  • Each external project (Dislessiako, Hypnaworld, Centro Studi Pedagogici, etc.) is summarised in a card with a thumbnail, short description, call to action and link to its dedicated website.
  • Users understand the breadth of Barbara’s work in 7 seconds and reach the project that interests them with a single click, without unnecessary detours or duplicated content.

The result: a clear map of all initiatives, very simple back-end management (adding a new project requires 3 fields), and traffic converging on one strong domain instead of dispersing across disconnected micro-sites.

Domenico’s ability to combine the potential of digital technology with careful attention to my needs and preferences made me appreciate not only the truly excellent final results, but also the shared journey and ongoing dialogue. His approach transformed a complex body of educational and training content into a clear, elegant and easily navigable digital architecture.
